Spanish Language Study

 

In order to truly prepare our students to be global citizens in the future all students at SIA will learn Spanish on a daily basis.

 

Primary Academy - The program is facilitated primarily through immersion conversations, songs, games and fun activities. Students receive 120 minutes of Spanish instruction weekly.

 

*Middle Academy - This program focuses on the development of the Spanish language through immersion conversations, academic language and the exploration of traditionally Spanish-speaking cultures. Students receive 180 minutes of weekly instruction. Commitment at this level is vital in preparation for their immersive, service learning experience to the Dominican Republic at the culmination of 8th grade.

High School - Students continue their study of Spanish through Year 3 and 4 during their Freshman and Sophomore years.

*Students have the opportunity to earn High School foreign language credits by completing Spanish 1 and 2.
